I’m sure the last thing you want to do on your Monday, is spend it listening to me babble on about something. BUT HERE I AM. 

Last week, we talked a little bit about how amazing the band Makari is...so we’re going to keep that energy up for a little bit. So last week, they dropped some pretty dope merch. I am going to assume the worst and just say that you guys didn’t listen to me when I talked about what the items were. I know, hostile energy. I’ll give you the little gist right now, before we start talking about music. After surprising everyone and dropping a hot new single (we’ll get to that), they also surprised everyone with a little merch drop. By little, I mean a pretty big one. I mean there’s a bundle where you can literally get everything. Vinyls, shirts, and hoodies. Who wouldn’t want all of that?? Losers, that’s who.

Anyways, so back to music. 

Last week, Makari dropped the song, “Let Go.” It’s like the anthem for the end of the Summer. I’m going to take your minds on a little virtual journey. You’re getting off work, the sun is setting earlier than normal. You don’t mind. You turn your Bluetooth on, and play this song. You feel relieved. The stress of the day washes away. This song is reminding me of Coachella. THERE I SAID IT. Are we really surprised? In all actuality, the band’s whole aura reminds me of this festival. This song in particular, is the golden hour anthem. Or the sunset anthem. I dunno your life okay. 

I think the reason this song in particular resonates with me so much is because it’s literally about letting go. I mean, let’s be real, it’s about letting a flame extinguish in the love department. There is again no real correlation to my life, seeing as I am single and thriving, BUT MENTALLY? I am living in a movie. I am staring out my car window, pretending I am in a music video. That music video plot is me saying “boy bye” finally. Clearly I’m delusional. HOWEVER, I hope that my rambling makes you want to listen to the song and become your own personal music video plot. 

I feel like once you begin to like a band, you have to have EVERY piece of merch they have. I mean I’ve been looking at that bundle all week like...wow a snack. Do I need everything? Probably not, my closet isn’t that big. However, WE CAN MAKE ROOM.
