GOOD CAUSE
We made it! Another Friday down in quarantine. Does anyone feel like April just popped in to say “hi”, and then dipped as soon as possible? Totally not mad about it!
Before we catch you all up on what’s been going on behind the scenes, there’s big news we want to share from this week. Absolute Merch been featured in Rolling Stone! It’s okay, you can totally have a minute to fangirl. I may or may not have done the same. While I would love to summarize for you what the article is about, I would hate to leave out any fun details! So, before continuing on, you can read about it here!
Okay, now let’s get into a little game of catch up. So, what have we been up to? I mean, besides staring out the window waiting for a million Amazon packages to arrive. C’mon, don’t act like we’re not all doing it. We’ve been spreading the good vibes, with merchandise for a good cause. So many of our amazing clients have decided to have a portion of their proceeds go to helping others. Amazing. As I am sure all of you know, things have not been easy for many musicians out there. With tours being cancelled, many artists are finding it difficult to keep the show running. So, instead of dwelling on the things we all cannot change, we’ve decided to work together to help those in need.
Let’s jump right into some of them shall we? Get your stimulus checks ready!
First, I am going to start with Koots Crew. I mean, wow, what a story on this one. This lovely establishment in Alaska, had it’s doors open everyday for the last 50 years up until this pandemic. I’m sure you can imagine the strain it caused, when they were unexpectedly forced to close. It was a no brainer creating something that would help their staff.
My favorite thing right now, is seeing the creativity with these items. Just the names alone make me want to buy 50 of each. For example, Corona the Empire. My favorite thing about this Crown the Empire drop, besides the name and charity, was the free face mask that comes with it. How could you not love? Not only can you rep your favorites on your essential grocery runs, but you can do it safely too! AS WELL AS...donating to a good cause. Doesn’t that make shopping more fun? Receiving and giving at the same time! Which brings me to the next feature, the Oni Facemask! Every facemask sold, one was donated. So badass.
With Meg & Dia, the limit does not exist. Whatever you want to buy in their collection, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to families in need. I mean, just look at the Happysad items and tell me those aren’t a giant mood during this quarantine. I think I somehow feel BOTH of those emotions when I wake up. Totally normal. Now, if you want a simpler looking facemask, Silverstein has a basic logo mask. The Used wants to reassure fans, that nobody is in this alone. With a portion of the proceeds being donated from their Together Burning Bright tee, they want to not only help musicians, but comfort customers as well. The shirt is so heartwarming, it really makes me feel that even with the distance between us, we can all be here for each other.
While we only mentioned a few of the favorite highlights, we want to thank everyone who was involved in these amazing projects. It’s so awesome to see that even in dark and unexpected times, everyone in this industry wants to lend a helping hand. It’s so reassuring that we will get through this together!
